I began pulling the driftwood and plants out of my tank today to clean the bottom and do a water change after an outbreak of fungus had finally cleared. As I did so, I realized my largest IT was swimming around on his side, almost as if he was glued to the substrate. He's 8 inches, an expensive fish, and i really don't wanna lose him. Anyone have any idea? The water parameters all check out and are at their normal levels. The temperature of the water is around 80-82.

The other Dat and the two catfish are perfectly fine. Now the afflicted one has pale patches of scales all over his head and left side. His eyes are cloudy, but one of them has an opaque white spot over it. The other Dat's eyes are clear and so are the catfish's eyes. I'm confused as to what could possibly be wrong. I just did a 50% water change and it's been over an hour. He's still swimming around on his side and his breathing looks labored.

if you have a hospital tank I would move quarantine it right away. try melafix + pimafix+ sea salt and bump up the temp. at this point it might be a little late, i have had two die on me on seperate occassions that were lying on their side with heavy breathing. i even held it in the flow of a pump with air bubbles for an hour but they passed the next morning. hopefully yours can pull thru.

Lieing on side or at wierd angles is normalbut combined wth The pale patch of scales is a sign that he has taken a beating from the other...

The White patch, if goes all red then he's hurt pretty bad, especially near the head or on the the gill plate....
if the patch gradually gets colour back it will recover, usually. I'd go with bongko and move to hospital tank, add mel and pimafix. But keep an eye on the 2 left in the tank... In case They fight...

Cloudy eye is usually caused by poor wq or fighting.
Any pics?
