very very soon my 240gallon is going to be running and my stock is going to be 3 inch albino bichir, 4 inch senegal, 5 inch lap bichir, 8 inch retro, 5 -6 inch silver arowana, 8 inch lima shovelnose catfish, and 8 inch fire eel. i want to get a datnoid but the only ones at the lfs are about 4-5 inches. can i keep one in my tank? i also plan on getting a florida gar later. would i be able to keep 1 or 2 4-5 inch dats?

Yeah you'd fine. Had my 5" dats with 10 poly's , 6 all over and @ 12" and I'm pretty sure you're good with the arow.

Yeah but remember they are all going to get a little big and adequate filtration will be needed.

get 3 or more....2 is a bad number for fish....unless their a pair.
