Dat ?'s

Hi All,

Can someone tell me the temperment of Dats? And also what do they eat? Can one be mixed with an Armatus? I have a chance today to get a 4'' widebar for 45.00 but I want to be sure it will be o.k. Do they grow fast and do they shuffle gravel around? Thanks

Datnoids grow very, very slowly, they don't move gravel around and they are relitively peaceful fish, they just don't get on well with eachother.

Wow that's a good deal. Make sure its actually widebar before you pick it up. I've found dats to be somewhat agressive, mainly towards other dats but soemtimes towards other fish, even those larger than them. I feed mine krill and bloodworms. Their growth rate is notoriously slow after about 5-6".

I'm not sure about mixing with armatus as I have no experience with them.

funny thing is Dat's are aggressive 2 they're own species but get along fine wif others... in which i see in most cases... tok about sibling rivalry... doesn't exactly happen all the time though...

yeah you should really check to see if its really a widebar and not a thin bar or other because 45 is actually a steal for a widebar which goes for min 200 here in the us
