datniods or oscars????

IMO everyone and their brother has an oscar. half the people who buy them toss them in too small of a tank they end up getting HITH and look horrible, which is just a tiny step down from how they already look. they are one step up from guppies on the my first fish list.

im a huge cichlid fan but i will never own an oscar. my dat has the personality of a cichlid, pretty much a better one than the rest of my cichlids. my dat is in the tank right next to my couch. he'll sit there watching me, he'll follow me all over the room and always expect food anytime i go near his tank.

I don't own either an Oscar or a dat, but I would most likely get an Oscar over a dat. I am just more interested in cichlids.

Maybe the one you have kept but mine are definitely NOT like that,my 14"er is like this all the time and hes the boss of the tank!

Ive had both and dats win hands down every time

just picked up a new silver have had 2 oscars....barely over 24 hrs and i'll take the datnoid any day
