U can tell its a patchy indo.
Not often seem and worth lots in Asia.

You can tell its not ngt as ngt has a much more compact body shape. The mouth is much smaller than indo . Basically the eyes , gills, and mouth are much more compact and closer together than indo. Also ngt is not as long in the body. More compact.

Thanks ade, for the detailed explanation you gave. Did you mean "Not often seen (seem?) and worth lots in Asia" What would an 11" patchy indo, like this go for market price in the US, would you say? :)

It's an IT with unclean stripes, not a NGT. Some IT will have unclean stripes like this, NGT also have black bodies and yellow/gold stripes which this guy does not. I'd like an indo like this though, idk why I like the look.

That's what I meant. Typo ... 😉
Not sure bout price in us.
But I think price would not be high.
In Asia, the like shirt bodied fish , patchy tigers and leusistic tigers. They all command high price..
Not my cup of tea though.

Yes, I've noticed some keepers in US and Asia (and other parts of the world - UK) have certain preferences and/or indifferences on certain criteria(s) regarding fish or fish keeping. Aaaah, to each their own, as long as your happy... that's all that really matters to me. But yeah, I understand what you mean. Not exactly my cup of tea either. :)

This is what's classed as a patchy tiger normally IT or ST
They are just low grade tigers that are normally thrown back by the fisherman

Someone started a crazy in Singapore a few years back when the surpply of ST was getting low and loads were imported
It's called surply the demand if everyone starts asking for patchy IT they will be loads around

They are nasty if you ask me
