I looked at a video at Youtube and the fish looks like a Datnioides. It was used as sushi. This is a heart-breaking video for any Datnioides lover.

A very poor fate for any Datnioides (watch the whole video). :(

I think this has been posted a few years ago but the fish is not a Datnioides...I don't know much about sushi and have never tried it but I'm not fond of the idea of eating raw fish flesh.

About it being posted a few years back, I guess what you said is possible since it is an old video ... It was very tragic for that fish -- being sliced and put back into the tank.

I eat sashimi, of all kinds and nobody likes fish more them me as a pet. But I eat anything.

Was it really a datnoid? I live in Asia and Asians would eat just about any fish. Not a crazy nut to try puffer fish or anything venomous but I do eat sashimi. The first two times, I nearly puked from the taste but third time went different.

I just completed the video. It was a datnoid. Poor fish was returned to tank with big chunks missing. I thought at first, he killed the fish already before he prepared the meat. Ugh. Luckily for us, the restos buy fish from the market already dead before being prepared for meals. Would never tolerate the sadistic means like the ones shown on video.

Would you prefer to eat fresh fish or dead rotten fish? Go to Asian market or Asian restaurant. Would you think those fish or shrimps kept in tank for viewing?

Some say dat some don't.

for people that are freaking out...Go to asia. It's perfectly normal there. You will see tons of display tanks of fish in restuarants just for eating.
