Anybody here ever breed datnoides?...

Or know of anyone who has? Would like to hear any stories or personal experiences from anybody?... Had a pair of Dats that spawned on me once... a (10" Indo and 8.5" Thinbar)... wasn't trying to breed anything... just Happened!!

Anyways, to cut a long story short, most of the eggs were eaten by tankmates, and the remainding eggs, lost... trying to do a transfer to another tank!! :( And to Top That Off... I ended up selling the pair for a $100!! A measley $100 bucks?!! W.T.F. was I Thinking?!! I dunno?!! :wall:

pics of the spawing pair...

as mentioned in an earlier thread, I know of no documented successful breeding of any Datnioides/Coius species. However, I have heard as yet unsubstantiated rumors of widebar datnoids being successfully bred in Asia.

Pfish member Phulltanks57 once had a pair of his Indo dats lay eggs under a piece of driftwood, but tankmates apparently gobbled up the eggs.
