I have a total of 7 , ST and IT Dats from 3in to 9in , they have never exhibited any serious agression towards tank mates before. Recently a few of them have started darting up at my Indo Tarpon. They are taking huge chunks out of him! Is it common for Dats to get aggressive towards other tank mates as they mature?

a bit confused, who's taking chunks out of who? I can't see how a tiger can take a chunk out of a tiger. There mouths arnt really designed to bite. They engulf prey instead.
It's common for tigers to fight, compete and go for each other, once they get over 7-8 inch, it's unlikely you'll ever have a peacful tiger community.
In 5 years of keeping dats, the worst inflicted damage bewtween them is some lost

Dats are picking on my TARPON. Fortgot to mention my Tarpon is like 10 in nobody is swallowing him. Thought it was my ARO. Would of never thought it was the Dats unless I saw it myself. I think maybe his silvery color , body shape and large eyes are similar to prey fish. Wierd?
Yeah one of my does that to a jardini im hold in my tank. I think its to kinda scare it to stop it from getting the food right away at feeding time cause of how its a top water fish. Maybe thats your case.
