Far Far Away
Hello i added 2 small datnoids to my tank (new to datnoids) notice one chases the other around the tank ALOT, and picks a fight too, is this normal behavior? are datnoids known to fight eachother; are very territorial? the one getting picked on seems to be very scared of the other :\ and spends most of his time hiding from him

Keep single or get more dats to spread aggression. Please read all stickies in the dat forum. It will answer your question and some. If you are relatively new to fish keeping, I would get rid of one and just keep one. What size is your aquarium?

Welcome to MFK.

They are pretty aggressive towards eachother, especially if you have 2. You need to get more to spread out aggression. I started off with 5

5 is a good number. I've noticed larger ones get along a little better though.

Even with 5 dats, you can still have aggression problems, its just you have much better chances with 5 or more. I think Gage can attest to this.

If you plan on a major upgrade in the future, go for it.

Yup, when I had like 12 smaller dats there was a pecking order but it definitively spread out aggression so it was never any worry.

My dats started out like that. I had 2 silvers and they wouldn't stop fighting with each other. Mistake was I did not do my research. Next day I went out and bought 5 NTT's and the aggression was spread apart. Just minimal chasing and shoving, nothing serious. I'm on a search now for widebar Indos so I can feed my pulcher fix. Get more dat then get more after :)
