oh well if i upgrade my 120 im might just have to get one

uhm.. I think you misunderstood maybe.. there are several sub spiecies of dats.. one of them are abbreviated ngt - new guinea tiger.. this tiger is very hostile towards other NGT's but will be fine with other dats such as

AT american tiger datnioides polota

NTT northern thai tiger datnioides umdecimradiatus (long time since I saw them so the latin may be wrong)

IT indonesian tiger datnioides microlepis

ST (if you ever find one) datnioides pulcher

btw.. you can keep your dat in a 120 for (probably) several years since they grow real slow.. if not the second hand value is VERY good.. for every inch you "make" (taking food value out of the equation) 20 bucks and if it would ever reach 15"+ you have a small fortune..

until 10" if you get it on pellets etc you can get 2" a year.. after that you should be happy with 1".. but then again, considering the body shape of a dat 1" does a lot..

i have a 9 IT that is eating market shrimp, krill and tilapia.....is this diet good for long term or do I NEEd to starve the big guy onto pellets?

as long as they get a varied diet its all good!

that is not 2 ngt's.. that is several ngts.. I'm pretty sure you can keep multiple hoplias aimara as well (HKN?) but for a new keeper that isn't something you would recommend right?

"it is in many if not most cases unwise to mix 2 ngt's since the temper of these fish seldom allow it", everyone's happy?
