I have a Datnoid, Green Terror, and Flowerhorn. I want to get a Jaguar cichlid. they are all small as of right now so they are in a 55, but I have a 200 gal tank that they will go into when they grow some. I would like some opinions on people that know about dats and cichlids. Would it work to add the jag or would the temperment not work?

From my experience my dat's did pretty well with cichlids.

Dats usually get along fine with cichlids, those however, may be too aggressive for your dat. The 200g should be enough room to prevent any problems when they're larger but the main issue is that your dat will grow much slower than all three of the fish you mentioned.

thanks for the suggestions. I did think about the growth rates. The dat is 6 inches now and the GT is 4 and the jag and flowerhorn are 2 so the dat has a decent head start. I will for sure keep an eye out for problems though.

I doubt this combo will work on the long run.

What potential problems do you see? The dat and flowerhorn? dat and Jag? dat and cichlids in general or what? I want it to work but i don't want anything bad to happen.

I haven't had any problems with my Dat and it's in with a peacock bass and tiger oscar. It's not really aggressive, but it doesn't take any crap from the other fish either. Unless your other fish have already shown signs of being aggressive towards each other, in my opinion, your dat can hold it's own at least for now.
