Datnoid Got Ich

MY datnoid i got from wes somehow caught ich. Ive tried doing salt and medicine and warmin water to 85 degrees. This is depressing this has become my favorite fish and now i might lose it

2-5 tablespoons of salt per gallon

and temp should be 87-89F

the process takes about at least 10 days

just keep that water well aerated and it should pull through

i nuke it with "rid-ich" + the salt and heat treament...

If the ich is in advanced stages you might wanna follow neos advice and drop some meds in the hospital tank.

If you dont have one, nows the perfect time to get it. a bucket, 10G or whatever container that holds water , a sponge filter and a heater.

Neo, I would worry about rid-ich and salt, it contains formalin and malachite green that both become more toxic as the salt level goes up.
I don't use it but several sites say you should not use it with salt. I did just check Kordon's website and they say it is safe for salt but don't say how it is formulated to be so.
Have you used it with dats? I never have kept them.

i heard you can only treat ich when its in a certain stage is this true?

Increase Salt concentration to 0.3 ~ 0.5%
Increase water temp to 32C
Continue treatment for about 2 weeks maintaining the salt level even when after WC. Medication is not required for itch.
