One of my indo dats looks like he just ate a pig overnight. His stomach is super fat, and is having a hard time swimming around. I have 3 IT's, and the other two seem to be doing fine. I tested the water, and everything is perfect.
I normally feed them beefheart, or pellets, but yesterday I fed them rosies for the first time in months. Thats the only thing ive done different.
His stomach is huge, can't imagine he just ate too much. Any ideas of what it might be?
I'll see if I can get a pic uploaded.

Probably bloated. You can try using putting him w/ EPSOM salt to help w. his constipation/bloating. It will clear his gut.

maybe your dat caught the disease on the rosies and made your fish stomach bloated?

The only med I had laying around was Pimafix, added the correct dosage for 120g, and his stomach is back to normal (1 hour later). CRAZY!. My other dats are swimming around like crazy, which is unusual. Maybe they don't like the pimafix. They all have been scratching around on the gravel and driftwood more than usual the past few weeks, so I think they may have something on them. Just want to make sure they are o.k. cause its taken me so long to grow them to they're 8-9" size, I'd freak if I lost any of them.
I normally use coppersafe, any idea if these can be used together? Pimafix & Coppersafe?

Calm down on the meds. Pimafix is an anti fungus remedy.

anyhow, glad the tiger is less bloated now. Just to be safe, I wouldn't feed any more live, not even for a treat.

On your next feed, might wanna chop your prawns (or whatever u feed), just so smaller bits of food can be digested more easily.

So all 3 of my dats around cruising around the tank, which ive never seen them due. 1 will occasionally hover right below the surface for a while. Its nice to see them active and not hiding, but I worry something is bothering them. Going to do a WC tonight, see if that helps.
Have any of you seen behavior like this after medicating?

well if you've just added meds than a wc would not be a good idea (read instructions on back).
the times that I have added mela+pima my dats come out and swim also, but they usually do this after WC's and ~30min-1hr after the lights go on in the tank.

There probably reacting to the meds in the water (not necessarily bad, as your tigers seem more active), but... Your adding meds for which are serving no purpose.

Stick with salt (2.2 lb / 100G), you know the routine, up temp. etc. then leave everything alone for 3 days before 25% wc.

check your heater isnt broken, i have had my cichlids act like that before and on closer inspection the heater had cracked and was putting a current through the water. not enough to kill them but it made them a little skittish
