datnoid pellet question...!

try to feed pellets 5-6 times per day. I got my dats (7 of them) to eat massivore delight and carnivore sinking pellets. I starve them for 5 days after feeding them twice a day.

I put a bit of pellets, some touch it then spit it out, some won't even acknowledge it.

So pull them back out..

A few hours later, I do the same thing.

I keep repeating my self in the morning, after I get home from work, before dinner, after dinner and before I go to bed.

Eventually after another 3-4 days, one of the dat started to eat, once I got him to eat, the whole tank will eat pellets.

Now, I can throw about 8-10 massivore delight and 20-30 sinckin carnivore and none of them ever made it to the bottom of the tank

mhmm i've tried.. i put pellets in he wont acknowledge it so might have to stick to krill for mean time until i try out what you guys say and see if he will accept it, hes a pretty stubborn fish

sounds like the method of stuffing FD krill w/ pellets might be in order for the first step

Only 1 of my 6 dats eats pellets, but since I have 3 fish (oscar, aro and dat) hitting them hard I am goint to try starving my fish to get them to go for the pellets.

The rest of the fish seem to be getting interested in the pellets but still unsure lol...

So I would recommend starving them to, might take a week but I am sure they will go for it as long as someone is there to show that it is food...

if you are having problems now paying for food for a 4inch tiger i recomend you do sell it now or how will you be able to pay for food when it gets to 12inch

pellets will be alot more expencive when feeding a 12inch tiger than shrimp

Ya, I would stick with Pellets and Shrimp.... I am trying to get mine off of Krill and onto pellets because the cost of krill here is rediculis, if you compare big als US with CAN you will see that we pay about %50 more...

A bag of 30-40 raw shrimp is like $8 and then pellets are like $11 a bag...

Try skipping a day to get him hungry enough to hit whatever food there is. He will eventually at least give it a try. Once he recognizes it is food, you can try the starvation method. I had two dats that didn't eat for 3 months. One of them finally gave in to eating MP last week, the other is starting to show interest. Good luck ;)

you have to be firm a 4inch tiger can go 1 month without food easy

just offer the pellets everyday and no more krill or you will never get him off the krill

i know it sound harsh but you have to be firm

EAT OR DIE thats the rules in my tank and it ALWAYS works

so i took your guys advice im just gonna throw shrimp block pellets in there : P and get him to eat it so time for the starving technique i sound like a jerk right now
