There's some minor scratches that were on the inside of the tank, which showed up in the second picture. But they are no longer there.

The rest of the tank looks dark, because I'm pretty sure he used an over head flash.

Correct, I used a direct overhead flash with an F-stop between F5 and F8, shutter speed was at 1/160 and flash set to 1/32 power.
