Recently bought 4 nice 3 bar IT datnoids around 5-6”. Keeping them in a 180 gal. Two are very active and stable, and two are less stable and like to hide on their side in the corners or behind the heater/filter tubes. I don’t see a lot of aggression, maybe a little chasing now and then. Any ideas to make everyone active and stable? Was thinking adding two more days or maybe a school of clown loaches or something. Thanks - Nick

Well Nick..Welcome to Datnoid 101, my first experience with dats was easy, had four and they were like any other fish, came up to eat, like the light, swam all over my tank. I think they were born in captivity. The five Sumatra I have now are total opposite. I was told they were caught very small in the wild, they are 4 to 5 inches now they don't like light or shadows, always hiding, I stripped tank bare, they hide behind intake tubes and heaters. added 3 red parrots as tankmates helped a little. They are starting after a year to show signs of stability. just keepin mind..If you don't train them, they will train you. Good luck
