i just lost my 7" silver arowana, big bummer.... i found him stuck to my overflow box this morning and when i moved him he swam off but later today i found him dead. he had been eating pellets and the tank parameters are good.

so my question is, do you think my 4" IT could have killed him? the aro had lots of missing scales on his belly and sides by his pectoral fins. there was also a gash on his back about mid way down his body. the only fish in my tank now that could have done any damage like that is my 12" black arowana (i never saw any aggression between the two of them, they use to swim together), my IT. the other fish in the system are 4" CL's, 3-4" bichirs that usuall hide. i also have a 5" lima shovelnose cat.

and my other question is can you mix IT's, NGT's and other Dats?

thanks for your advice.

based from what i know aros and dats are very compatible...yes you can mix all the different dats in 1 tank, just be sure that they all have an equivalent sizes...because the big dat's buuly the smaller one's..

Its better not add a group of big tigers all the same size!
That will encourage fighting as they all want to dominate and all be the alpha fish.

Much better to Get group of various sizes. They establish natural hierachy this way. Biggest will be alpha. The rest of the pack know their place.

You will also alwas have a bit of fighting / squabbling/ displaying - in a group of tigers.
It's totally normal.
Also some can be a lot more aggressive than others.
