Wow, then what do you guys recommend for a mid to top level swimming fish that grows at a good rate, say a ton more then just 2 inches a year. I bought the datnoid because I was mislead for two inches a month.... and because it looked really nice. So what do you guys recommend? It should look really stunning too!

try a peacock bass there nice, im looking for 1 myself.

i think the 2" per years is a slow average i would say more like 4" in a year. but that is also assuming that they are feed properly. if they are in a tank with fish that are aggressive eaters and u don't make sure to spot feed for the dats then 2"/year is probable but i have had my dats for about 8 months now and the smallest growth is to my NTT he has put on 2" my biggest grower is a IT that has put on 3.5" but this is just my experience. but from what i have read when they get aaround the 8" mark the growth rate does slow down quite a bit.

The 2" per year applies after your dat hits a certain size (6-7") and differs based on specie and individual . If you get a baby indo on massivore he can go from 1 to 7" in a year. If I remember correctly Gangster grew his even faster.

but still u should not add a dat into a pond with an rtc, unless it is a huge pond just cause the dats will become food.

size will make a big difference if u choose to do it.
