Also I think wildwoods is a bit to far as I’m only a teenager so my dad would have to take me and I don’t think he would take me to a fish shop at that distance which is a shame as it looks really good

datnoids are the slowest growing fish ever...it takes them years to get to monster size (12" or bigger)...when i had mine...they were in a 180g but i had to downsize and keep 5 of them in my 90g...they are not big swimmers at all and i really don't think they need to be in a 6' tank unless you have had them for over 10 yrs...

+1

Not sure if you already got your Oscar but what he said is true. You'd be better off getting a 5" IT for a start.

I have to disagree here bro my dat grew from 6-14” in less then two year. It all depend on the fish and owner. If they take pellet thy will grow faster then fish that only take live or frozen. I have over 7 dat at all time in my 600g tank. Those that take pellet out grown the one that don’t two to three time. Feed a lot and a lot of water change will get your fish bigger faster then those that don’t feed/water change as offend

My group just turned 3 years last week. Grew them from 1.5" and they range from 8" to 12". The ones that got onto pellets sooner the biggest. The smallest finally made the switch about a year ago but it has some catching up to do.
