datnoids microlepis diferences.... help!

The country of Indonesia includes, but is not limited to, the islands of Borneo, Sumatra, and Irian Jaya, the western half of the island of New Guinea. Originally, it was thought that D. microlepis was found on the southeast Asian mainland (Mekong and Chao Phraya basins) and in Indonesia (Borneo and Sumatra). However, ichthyologist Maurice Kottelat concluded in 1998 that the mainland populations were actually a separate species, which he described as D. pulcher. Thus, based on the description of D. pulcher, D. microlepis, as it is now known, only occurs on the Indonesian islands of Borneo and Sumatra. It's confusing though, because the fishbase description of D. microlepis still references a mainland population. That reference is actually to D. pulcher.

thanx
