OK I have both. I have 2 oscars and 2 dats and I have to say that the oscars just have way more personality than the dats. Although, the dats are way more cool as far as looks go. Tough choice......I think I will go... oscar!

Not even the same ball park not that there's anything wrong with oscars 20 years ago they were probably my favorite before i new about dats. Most people don't have any idea what a dat is at my lfs they just look at me with confusion wen i even mention dats.oscars are easy to keep and available at your local pet smart if you are new to fish keeping they are a great fish to start with, not that you have to be new to love Oscars . dats can be very difficult dealing with stability and even finding one can be difficult ,its rarity and difficulty attract fish keepers who love rarity and chalange.
