FOR LIFE? as in when they hit their maxsize?
for ST(heard of 24")/ IT(I have a 21"...)/ NGT(heard of 20") ... at least 600g
for NTT(heard of 14")/AT(heard of 13")... at least 240g

but.... i suppose you could upgrade your tank later?
if not , with 72"x18" x18" , you'll be good with NTT/AT for a looooong while ( while st/it/ngt takes just as long to grow, you would be limiting its growth in that "small" tank) )
ntt is the least aggressive but also one of the hardest to keep due to shyness or even the mysterious sudden death syndrome....
