Ok so I've had them for about 3 months now and most of the time none of them moves.. Is there a way to get them to be active.. Like I've seen youtube videos of them and they are swimming all over the place.. Or is it the only the big ones are more active? Btw I have 2 indos, 3 ntt, and 1 at... If I get more are they going to get more active?

Sounds like a nice mix but tell us more about them...What are their sizes, diet, tank size and decor?...It's interesting that even the AT hardly moves.

The biggest is 7"(NTT) 6(NTT) 3-3.5" NTT and AT and 2 2" indos. 75 gallon grow out with blue background and natural colored rockes.. And one 8" ornate and a 5" armored birchir

if anyone can comment on dat behavior I'd love to hear it, I'm about 6 weeks out from investing in some silver dats.

Would it help if I get more dats.. Thinking of trying to get a NGT.. And a couple more indos

As far as the amount, you're fine. i don't see a need to add more. Smaller Datnoids will typically hide a lot and the bigger ones will normally swim a little more. I have found that by removing hiding spots it makes them more active. Some people say adding more hiding spots makes them more active but in my experience it just made them hide more. NGT's can be pretty aggressive and may cause an issue in your community. Silver dats tend to be the most active imo, so it's probably due to his size, or perhaps there are some aggression issues in the tank. if that's the case, add a few small silver dollars as target fish and that should make the dats more active.

If you can find one an NGT most likely would shake things up in the tank. Its hard to say but your dats will eventually come out of their shell and start to move around the tank.Thats how it is with dats...some of them are outgoing from the start and some will hide and lurk for a long time before their behavior changes.
