David R's 2000L tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is a mayor league project indeed, I'll be following it closely to see what I learn from you.

Send my compliments to wife for being so helpful and outgoing, my wife likes my fish however she helps me with nothing at all......:irked:

Cheers.

Stand delivered today, damn it's heavy!!! Managed to manoeuvre it into the room with millimetres to spare, just needs to be shimmed (uneven floor) and levelled.

^ that is the view from the couch with my head hard up against the wall and my phone so close to my face I can barely see to take the picture. People are going to ask for full tank shots but it may not be physically possible!! There is an alcove in the back corner of the room for storage under the stairs, so instead of storing fish-related junk in there as I am at the moment I may have to empty it out for a "photo nook"...

I hope it is, certainly hit home today just how big this tank will be! The front and back top horizontals are 100x50x3mm galv box, the front to back horizontals are 100x50x5mm (for the 1100mm spans) and the rest is 50x50x3mm. This plus another 350kg of glass plus another 1800kg of water, I hope the floor is strong enough!!!

all floors are strong enough when the soul is strong!

It is a questuion of faith! a question we never, ever, pose ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha!! I have faith in the floor, I had no hesitation parking a two ton truck in the garage, so the tank will be fine.

Emailed the tank maker and we have tentatively booked it in for the week after next. Getting excited now!
