Day 1: Saffron the Midas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, this goofball decided to fool me. I've kept Amphs for a VERY long time, and was 95% sure this was a male. Lone behold, I came back from the weekend to discover her guarding 1000+ eggs. This probably explains why she was so much more mellow than the male RD's/Midas I've kept in the past. Anyways, I cleaned/scraped the eggs out and she's back to her normal self. The bad news is that she'll likely continue to instinctively lay eggs every 12-14 days (this has been my experience with female Amphs in the past). She took a nice little chunk out of my finger during the egg removal process...……..lol. Regardless, she's a great fish, and I look forward to raising her right.
