oh yeah, they will get 6-8" in most cases ... this was just a spur of the moment purchase, so they are in a 10g until i figure out how big of a community i want to keep
as for blacking out the sides and back, i havent decided yet ... and the bottom is all black gravel

Just found this thread ... 6 months old so I thought I would update ...

I had all the cichlids in a 29 full of rocks, then a 20L under it with smaller cichlids, and a 15g tank (not pictured) for any potential fry ...

And now I'm on to the 180g for adult fish, and keeping the 29,20,15 running for fry and growouts

...Soon to add a LFS rack for breeding them ;) ...

I have 2 irwinis and a granulosus in the tank that I need to move out.

... I think that's it but I'm sure I missed something ...
Aprx 100-120 fish. Mostly under 3" for now...
