day late and a dollar short

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My bad. $6000 and climbing. The other $4000 was box lots of corals for trade shows. We usually bring upto 200 frags/colonies with us and set up several tanks and have more corals in coolers if we are selling out. Got my reciepts crossed up on excel. I still have alot of stuff I want to get in that tank for another $2000. Light replacement bulbs will be next. 5 MH at $70ea plus shipping!

Salty's tied up this weekend. I will have to hold that 120g a little longer!

salt tanks can be expensive especially if you go top of the line and overkill on everything (mr. firemouth) however that does make maintenance and water quality alot better. reef tanks like the one above can break the bank, but just a salt tank with live rock and fish only is not that bad. water changes on the other hand suck. imagine having to premix all your water for the change 24-48 hrs in advance by the time the water was ready i forgot i was scheduled for water changes lol. i am thinkin of going planted with pikes on the new tank but i should prolly get some for the first tank first

Yes it is beautiful, But I can't ever see myself spending 10 grand on a aquarium to many other things that I love, so I must distibute my money equally, that includes my wife.:)
And her passion for fish does not in anyway come close to mine. LOL
She thinks I am crazy if I spend 50 or 100 bucks on a fish, but does
not think twice about a 100 dollar purse. Go figure:screwy:

Yea better get some pikes in the first setup before doing the other. HaHa

Salty has a 300g reef ready acrylic tank for two reasons...
1. It was scratched and I didn't want to have to buff that out. He did a great job though! Hard work paid off!!!
2. 300g salt tank would of easily went $20,000 SPS tank. I have little in the way of self control. Between gambling and the fishroom it is amazing my kids eat!

Salty and I are working on getting the pump ordered and some other stuff set up and then I'll help him search for the pikes! He just needs that friendly nudge to get it going!

110 a pop is a little high when im lookin at buyin a group, but good lookin out. hey firemouth i dont need a nudge a need some cash lol. seriously though i may get the pump this week. gonna go lookin for bulkheads tomorrow or sunday.

If you're waiting around for a good deal, you might just screw yourself over. Keep the patience strong though...;)...as there might be a few good ones pretty soon. Sometimes though, there comes a time that when you really want to honestly get a certain type of pike, money isn't an issue. You're going to spend a lot of money, no matter how long you wait for the prices to drop. Especially if you are gonna get a larger group. Sorry bro, just a reality of it. Most of us here make $300 orders, without the shippin...lol.

got no prob with a 300 dollar order if i have the money its the 700 dollar orders my other half has a prob with. she does share my passion, she would rather pay bills and eat lol.

I assume she doesnt want a 5- 10 grand Salt setup then.:) I have the same issues. My other half believes fish are to be eaten. HaHa
Ill have even a harder time getting the big orders since I just spent
2000 g's on a new 50 Plasma.:D
As I said earlier she would rather spend it on purses or shoes.:screwy:

Thats why you save up or sell something you have. Bills do come first though...;). Don't get frustrated....in time my friend, in time...;) Wait about two to three more days, hopefully you will be rewarded by your patience!! ;)
