Day of the cheap ac110 over?

The LFS near me has it for $60 plus tax, and that is the everyday price for an Aquaclear 110.

At Ebay, you can buy an AC 110 for $65 shipped.
 
Dangit! I just paid $66 for one on ebay shipped, I feel so gipped on that extra dollar...:cry:. Actually, I was quite pleased with that deal...
 
Look on craigslist(if in the US). I got 2 AC70s for 30$ with replacment sponges and a huge tub of seachem matrix carbon.
 
I feel your pain. I bought all my AC filters 5 years ago and didn't spend more than about $40 each for them. I started looking a filters a few weeks ago and was shocked to see them averaging $70. So I just built a wet/dry for what it would have cost me for 2 ac110's and it does a much better job.
 
Some chain stores offer a price match...

I've heard of people using an old advertisement with a lower price and them still matching it...

But this is dishonest and you shouldn't do it...

AC110 are lil high. But why not buy a few of the 20$ AC70 from bigalsonline plus if you buy a couple you get free shipping n with the code you get 10% off too! I bought a bunch sold a few on craigslist n ending up getting the 1s I kept for FREE!! Heck 2 AC70 better n cheaper than a AC110 anyhow you can put one at each end of your tank.
 
All Hagen products are going up next month 5% across the board! I'm a retailer & not happy. When I raise the prices it usually just to cover the increase so were not making anymore money & about the samethe last few years but its gettiing hard to keep eating these increases because everything seems to be going up except t.v.s.
They say the cost of material, freight, manufacturing, the dollar & whatever else the reason prices going up.
