I came home to this today
1362554

She's in 180g. Tankmates are 3 silver dollars, 3 peacock bass, and a male pearl ray. All the other fish are fine and just as hungry as usual. I did a water change last night, I normally do 40-50% every 3-4 days. She's never been as active as the male, she tends to stay on one side of the tank. Eats fine but not as much or as aggressively as the male.

I have no idea what could've caused this.

Sorry for the loss.

That's what I thought after looking at the picture too. I looked at her again and it's just the angle.
Ahh. Could she have been stressed for a long time? Stress can kill small pups. Hows your water parameters? Ammonia nitrite and nitrate? Ph? Any change in her behavior recent? Sunken in head? Skinny?

Ammonia and Nitrite 0, Nitrate never exceeds 40ppm, pH.7.0. She didn't swim around a lot which I guess could've been stress. She ate but not a lot, her brother would eat 2-3x as much as her. She was skinny but you couldn't see her "hip bones" head wasn't sunken in.

Tank is barebottom with no decorations so Idk what could've cause the injury or the blood either...

How big is the peacocks? Could they have tried to take a snack? Im thinking something internal since there is blood coming out of its gills.

JK47 JK47 whats your thoughts on this?
