Sorry your collection got lost in such a tragic, pointless way. I look forward to seeing your art! You have the whole community on the edge of our collective seats. :D

Read the whole thread - still completely confused. Not about the want for dead fish so much, but mostly I have to wonder what measures would need to be taken to ship these in a manner that leaves viable material to work with.

Looked at the link to your facebook page - I'm kinda old and fairly lame, so most of the modeling is beyond me. But those illustrations are brilliant - really quite impressive work.

Bump!

Haha, it's very kind of you to compliment my [interesting] paintings, despite my rather bizarre other work [you're not old or lame!- I was born a hundred years early :D],- but seriously, that's awesome, thanks :]
And the whole shipping processes I use are deceptively simple and even though rudimentary techniques sound strange, I always receive my specimens in great condition. There's a bunch of variations I recommend a well just in case, [I need to write it up and copy-paste that whole list soon already]
and if you prefer you can look up .pdfs from scientific journals/books about short term packing and shipping of not just fish but also land animals; and if you search through taxidermy.net's forums you'll find even more info probably differing from technique to technique-
That became more than I meant, oops~ I just wanted to quickly shoot you a few resources showing you how to safely pack the dead stuff regularly sent through the mail in-general, lol. You can use more from a fish than you think if you have some insanity&creativity :D
