So when i started my tanks I had two oscars and a pleco and that was about this time last year... as I was checking on my fish last night I realized that the pleco was not moving (which is not uncommon for this fish) and that its eyes were sunken into its head... well turns out that the thing died last night but i am not sure as to what caused it. it was not ill by any means and it was usually a fairly active pleco...

so does anyone know if they just die like that or is there something that i should look for. I had my water tested today and its perfect.

what should I replace it with?

no wounds no other signs like sunken belly, clouded eyes etc? When was the last time u seen it active or eating?

As for wad should u replace it with..of cos another pleco! or more plecos! :D

Check for sunken belly, was it getting enough veggies? What kind of pleco was it? A common, I slowly starved one without realizing it many years ago by feeding it only carnivore pellets and what it scavanged.

Was this pleco in the 125 gallon in your signature?
