So, I bought a snail yesterday for my new 10 gallon, and last night/earlier today it was really active moving around the tank. There were two times last night where the damn thing got sucked up the intake on my filter, so I had to unplug it and let the snail fall out before I plugged it back in. Well just now I went down there and heard what kinda sounded like a crunching/mashing noise coming from the tank. I knew it was the stupid snail again, so I unplugged the filter and the snail was almost lodged in there because I had to bang the top of the filter to get it to fall out. I looked at the thing, and there was a crack line across the front of the snail's shell.
My question is, after an experience like that, will the snail still be able to survive? Also, what can I do to prevent the thing from getting stuck in there without restricting the flow from the filter?
