Deal or No Deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol, dude..

Never do that. Someone is going to see it on here and scoop it up before you even
make your decision. lol

Go get it quick and reseal it.

is it for a reptile?
and it doesnt look like a 220 to me i would ask for dimensions because it looks like a 6x2 or a 180 to me

I'd offer him $60 and see if he bites, or brings it down to $80 or so. Because it leaks and it will be a project to get the tank usable.

Could be a great deal! Just get it as cheaply as possible.

Yeah, not bad. looks more like a 200g (maybe 180). Doesnt look to have overflows, so easy to reseal. 50 cents a gallon is good.

Ya that was what I was thinking I am hoping it can be repaired, I have never repaired a tank before and have no experience doing it. How challenging can repairing a tank be? Can you just patch it up?

Tell him you want the tank first, then ask a day you can come buy. When you get there, then haggle down. It's easier for him to say no over the phone or email and wait for another person. But once your there, it's more dooable. Make sense?

im not sure but it would involve a lot of silicone and testing and being nervous and sleepless nights thinking about 220 gallons of water flooding my house but thats just me
i like new stuff just peace of mind and aesthetically, i would pay 500 for a brand new 220 +new stand and lights before id pay 100 for a used 1

It's no big deal to reseal a tank. Dont freak out about it. Most of the structural integrity is in the seal between the pieces. As long as they look good, your fine. The inside sealing is more of a water seal. (most likely whats leaking) It's hard to screw up if you do it properly. And if you do it wrong, you'll get some drips and have to do it over. Just make sure and cut everything out with a razor (staying away from the structural sealent), rub & clean THOROUGHLY with rubbing alcohol, then seal. easy peasy.
