dear skull with antlers in aquarium?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The skull look is definitly cool, just be sure to stay on top of the algae, if it gets into the pores in the bone it'll turn the skull green and you will have to bleach it again to get it white. Trust me: White skull = Cool ... Green Skull = not so cool

I think it would be pretty cool either way. I found a skull with a pretty good sized rack (14 or 15 point I think) at camp one time in a river, but they didn't let me keep it-put it in the camp nature center. I'm thinking about trying to get a job at a camp as a naturalist some summer, and if it's there, I'm taking my skull back lol

A long time ago my cousin saved a cow skull from a funeral feast and threw in the skull into his exodon tank. Nothing bad ever happend to them.

I would coat the skull in a marine epoxy resin, It would keep it from decaying

I've done it, took it out after a few weeks as the antlers started to grow some pretty nasty stuff on it.

Chemistry wise, all the skull is is calcium carbonate. Not going to do anything much to the tank besides raise the pH slighty.

like they have said it will effect the water but very greadually shouldnt be enough to hurt fish. i would however love to see a pic when its done if u can :) sounds like an interesting look
