Yea prawns are much better if your ray will take them, its pretty much the staple of my rays diet. Its not the cheapest, but cheaper than most other alternatives, and they can swallow them down and dont make that bad of a mess.
correct me if im wrong... but isnt the death curl more of an involintary movement, that doesnt look to involentary... he is prolly just moving around

i just had this problem and i found out they were breathing heavily because of the chlorine in my water.

But we did find the problem.. Just bad water.. Though there were no ammonia or nitrite.. Smelled like bad shellfish.. A big 75% waterchange did the job..
