Now that I look at it the dead Gymnotus tigre specimen is really resembling the unidentified specimen

I read through the description (Albert and Crampton, 2003) and there wasn't too much useful info the color pattern. The dead fish you show, however, is the specimen on which the species was described (holotype), making it the true tigre...I agree it looks a bit more like the lighter colored specimens you show, but dead fish lose some of their color over time in alcohol.
