Debating between Fahaka, Cross River and Mbu.

Ok so experts would say the decision between the three is easy I have a 120 gallon tank the Cross River Puffer is the smallest of the three therefore it makes the most sense. Unfortunately they are ridiculously hard to come by so here it is...

I currently have a 6 inch Fahaka in my newly acquired 120 gal tank. Ideally he would need something two feet wide which is not the case here since i have the 5 foot version of a 120. I have only ever kept the Fahaka throughout my 6 years in the hobby so I know how great they can be.

I've always had a great interest in the Mbu but tank size is not big enough nor am I planning to upgrade in the next two years so that might settle that argument. Although I do have one lined up on a online site (however, i'm not sure how much i trust buying a $200 fish that I've never seen before to check it's health.)

The Cross River Puffer is beautiful, but I don't think I've seen them more then once since I have started this hobby. Ideally I would like this guy but that would mean getting rid of my fahaka which I'm not exactly sure I can do because I am pretty attached. (If anyone knew where I could get a Cross River that might make my decision easier so let me know I live in Toronto).

Well I think you can eliminate Mbu since you aren't planning on an upgrade anytime soon.

If you can get a Cross River, I would go with that. They look better than Fahakas and are more desirable/rare in the hobby.

If you cannot acquire a Cross River, then just keep your Fahaka in the 120. Fahakas are great puffers for sure.
 
I agree with Angler, that you can eliminate the MBU from your list, unless your planning on getting at least a 800G+ tank just for him... as for the cross river, since you mentioned you'd have to get rid of your Fahaka to house your cross river, imo, your probably best off just keeping your fahaka till you can at least get a 2nd tank to house the Cross River...

Unless you really dislike your fahaka enough to sell it to some one else?
 
Why can't you just be happy with the fahaka?
 
my friend rob can be happy with a fahaka. but he has a decease, as soon as another person he knows has what he has he needs to have something else. Pufferpunk where can he get a Cross River Puffer.
 
I go for the Fahaka!

Good luck finding a cross river puffer. I've never heard of nor seen one for sale locally or online.
 
I have never seen one FS in the US.
