I am sure that earth have gone thru a couple of times, but this is the one that human kind is going to witness :O
In 2012 the plane of our Solar System will line up exactly with the plane of our Galaxy, the Milky Way. This cycle has taken 26,000 years to complete. Virgil Armstrong also says that two other galaxies will line up with ours at the same time. A cosmic event!
Time is speeding up (or collapsing). For thousands of years the Schumann Resonance or pulse (heartbeat) of Earth has been 7.83 cycles per second, The military have used this as a very reliable reference. However, since 1980 this resonance has been slowly rising. It is now over 12 cycles per second! This means there is the equivalent of less than 16 hours per day instead of the old 24 hours.
Each era of time (a few million yrs apart) are broken into different time period.. This could be the end of the human period.. since the first homo sapien appeared on earth (approx 2 million yrs ago) so the cycle is coming to an end... As for the destruction / castrophic event, it might happen but life have survived million of years, so we might make it thru ^^ Im sure this is nothing new compared to earth's history.. we (with knowledge) only exist in earth for a mere 5000 yrs.. There still lot to earn and lot to experience... ^^

Never understood why people would fear death, especially knowing that EVERYONE is going to go...
My predicition...nothing happens...and conspiracy theorists come up with a new end of days date.

Mankind is obsessed with it's own mortality and how to beat it - these doomsday prophecies are just another way for people to make sense of the one thing we will never understand.
Go look into Buddhism or Taoism, some sort of Eastern religion, maybe it'll put your mind at ease

they have sophiscated calender which can tell the exact day of the next eclipse even in a few century in the future
and the calender ends at 2012 >.>
and then there are also scientific theory.. and earth's history.. its so hard not to believe
Eg.. from the period of Trassic into Jurassic, something must have happen in between to cause the way of life or evolution or it wouldnt have 2 different period of time and different oganisms
and now we are right in that gap.. its very possible its going to happen, it might be true, it might not be true, but scientific evidence and our earth's history backed up the fact
the question is do we get to see it in our life time? is 2012 really the end? ^^
Not so hard to believe that there could be some catastroprhic disaster on this earth that wipes out almost all life and starts a new cycle, it's happened before.

Well for one thing there has been somewhere between 3-5 (cant remember exactly) major extinctsions on this earth. To many people perdicted way to many different things to happen in 2012 so I wouldnt believe it. Plus on all major extinctions, something has survived otherwise there wouldnt be anything here. I dont find it hard to believe that something would wipe out a vast majority of humans (like ww3 is perdicted to do). The earths poles have shifted before, it will shift again, and there are stilll living organsims so I dont think it will wipe out everything. Just as the earth goes through its heating and cooling phases, thast what it does over thousands and millions of years. I dont believe in it. Thast like the end of the world was in 2000 and we were all going to die and aliens were going to attack us and our computers would crash. Id rather go out and enjoy my life do the things I want to do and not worry about it. If it happens it happens there is nothing you can do about it, so why worry about it.
