A friend of mine who studies biotopes, had found a bagarius in maharashtra, that would be the southernmost confirmed find of a bagarius, else there are unconfirmed reports of bagarius till karnataka too.

I see. Even if they do end up finding a few I doubt that they will be as big as the ones in the Himalayas.

Can't say about that, as cauvery hosts the biggest mahseer, the humpback mahseer.
