dechlorinated water for snakes?

IMO, I think boogie is taking the question a little far. Cursory reading, of his post and most people would think that tap water is poisonous and shouldn't be drank by anything.

All animals, including snakes, regularly drink water in the wild, that is full of bacteria, animal feces and the like and are perfectly fine.

In the numerous years I've been keeping reptiles, I've never used dechlorinated water and have never once had any ill effects. My 14' female Burm has a 15gal water bowl, that she drinks out of and submerges herself in, sometimes for days at a time. Same thing for my large albino male and every other snake I have.

I'd bet that the main majority of reptile keepers do not use dechlorinator.

I have used 'spring water' for my snake thats going on 12 years old, but its really only because it is convenient . I would take the dish out, clean it, and fill without having to go to a faucet. I'm sure its fine either way though...

Its not expensive at all, unless you need a huge dish. 1 gallon jugs of generic brand water cost like 60 cents.

really? thanks krzr
