I am armed and dangerous with my new python. I love the idea of running water back into the tank. My worry is dechloring the water before I add new. I have 'Prime' is that an instant dechlore when the freshwater hits the tank? Besides brining the freshwater to temp, what is the best way to do this?...Add freshwater after a water change with a Python while my fish are still in the tank....

I love my python! Best investment ever. I just try and match the water temp coming out of the faucet with the tank water then just add it straight to the tank. I then put Prime in for the whole tank amount as the tank is filling.

yup i fill may tank up and dose whole tank.... been doing this for 3 years now never one problem....

pythons are great. i used to fill up big containers with water, treat with prime, then drain and refill the tank. i did this to be on the safe side. needless to say it takes forever on a 210g, so now i just fill straight into the tank.

no issues yet! just be sure the temp of the water youre putting in is close to whats in the tank. and yeah, i treat the water as if i was treating the whole tank.

Sweet! So adding Prime per the instructions on the bottle is ok to add directly while my fish are in there. What about adding 'Stability' by Seachem? Shall I add that too? Do I add either one based on gallons I estimate I am adding back or the entire 55gals when dosing? Sorry for all da questions don't want to kill da fish

I add Prime first, then refill. The aeration caused by the Python helps to decrease chlorine content also (but not chloramine).

Alot of people add a FULL TANKS worth of prime or other dechlor, but I get worried about all that chemical.I use 5 gallon buckets and treat 5 gallons at a time.

you can dose 5x the tank volume with prime i did 8x the tankvolume during a major ammonia spike... do you add a half ML to each bucket then dump it in??? too much work for me...
