Hey Everyone, haven't had reptiles in a while, however I decided with the upcoming Repitle Expo in a few weeks I will go and this time mostly bring home something. So far bearded dragon will most likely be purchased because of all the pros of having one, and also my girlfriend really wants one. However Im stuck between my favorite cage of all time to have which is the Exo Terra 36x18x24, Ive always wanted one however I might debate on going another route and try getting a tank 36x24x24 or possibly a 48x24x24, but I heard they aren't that active and one of the 36 sizes should just be roomy enough for one. Well I'm thinking of having Two tanks, such as the bearded dragon on top and than another reptile underneath which I'm not sure what, I've always loved monitor lizards and might push for ackies monitors if I go the 48x24x24 route because I doubt it would be happy in a 36. Like I said its still up in the air, any opinions? Or any other cool reptiles out there that can be handled regularly I know the traditional ones like leopard geckos and blue tongue skinks was interested in some reptiles not commonly owned but make great pets?

Also there is a pvc cage with sliding doors at a good price and apparently its stackable so I was maybe thinking too stack to cages than a little stand underneath where I can hopefully store supplies, as well as dubia roaches that I will try my hand at breeding.

Also wanted to know what kind of heat bulbs i can use? The cage only comes with one fixture so I can only put one heat bulb and one fluorescent tube. So I would need a bulb that will emit heat all day and night if possible because I wouldn't want to constantly change bulbs.

Appreciate any advice

Chameleons are the most fun reptile I've ever owned. Tegus are great also but get gigantic. Just about any type of snake is awesome.

butterfly agama Is the favorit of the ones I've owned nice colors and good temperment

I'm a snake guy myself and personally I love my corn snakes. Super low maintenance, come in many different colors and patterns, and fun to handle...plus no bugs to deal with.

There are too many cool reptiles out there for me to suggest just one *cough ball python* but as far as the heat bulb, I've always found that Zoo Med blue daylight bulbs seem to last the longest. I've had two on my turtle tank for the past 6 months or so, and I leave them on most of the day, and occasionally forget to turn them off at night. I've had much more success with the blue daylight bulbs than the "basking spot" ones also made by Zoo Med... those rarely last me longer than a month.

Here r some awesome ones:shingleback skink,icefire bearded dragon,mountain horned dragons,Thai bamboo ratsnakes,banded watersnakes,flame garter snake.

Well thats true, well hopefully I don't end up with a giant tegu or something! Looks like I will wait till the show, however if it comes down to a bearded dragon there are tons of vendors, are all the vendors good or some more highly respected than others? Hmm could get back into snakes, going to check out some of the others reptiles listed on here thanks!
