Well i went to my LFS and picked up a Jardini Arowana. he is about 8 to 9 inches in length and his barbells are almost gone due to a really small tank. but he is awesome and im sure he will recover.

Then.... i went back and picked up two discus. now i have heard that jardini's are ***hole$ but i am going to try the combination out. these are a pair of huge 7 to 8 inch in diameter discus fish that couldnt be with any other tank at the LFS because of their "scrappy" nature. i got them for a great deal too! 250 usd for the pair!! they wanted to sell for 400 for the pair!

Its been a day now and every one seems to be fine. The day before the Jardini "Walter" (from Jeff Dunham LOL!!) was picking on my 2 Geophagus Jurapari "Thing 1 and Thing 2" but as soon as i added the discus the jardini seemed intimidated and started hidding!!! i will keep every one updated on how everything is going.

P.S. the Discus are wild and they were hand caught in south america....

When the jar gets use to them he wont be scared of the discus anymore. Then there will be dead fish in your tank. I would remove those discus from that tank.

$10 says those discus are dead soon.

I'm betting the discus will be toast once the jardini gets comfortable.

Wow, that's alot of money you are betting on the Jardini. The odds are heavily in favor of it not working. You'd been better off just laying down the 250 bucks on the superbowl.

In my case the only fish that i have been able to keep with my Jar is a huge Bala shark(7-8" and a small Oscar 4")He also doesnt mind any of my Catfish. But he is certainly the "Boss" of the tank.

Cool I'll keep you guys updated. as of now the are all still just minding each other business but i am being extra cautious. Someone is always at home and periodically checks on them. i have a cycled spare tank ready for Evac incase.

im a believer in that you can do it. ive had some pretty crazy jar combos in the past, and hell, it may or may not work, but keep us updated!
