I guess your definition of responsible is different than mine. IMO a responsible keeper of any type of animals would do what ever it took to rehome a fish they could no longer care for. If it were me in that situation I would have payed for the shipping myself to get my fish to a good home. But I do not buy fish that I can not keep responsibly so that will never happen. It has happened to me with a dog before. And i found it a home and payed for the dogs expense for the owner for a year until they said it was not necessary. When i got out of my apartment they wanted to keep the dog and they did. To me that is being responsible for my action to buy the pet. I guess I could of just killed it! because i had taken good care of it before the mishap. ------------disgusting:irked:

You make me truelly laugh-----Whats disgusting is your response to a situation you have no clue about....

I would lay money down that I have spent more money on a pacu than most have-My pacu speaks for itself---

I have done everything I can to rehome this guy-I dont understand what part of I got the largest tank around-you dont understand......Shipping on this guy would be about $600 to $700 if I had to guess-----I can afford that---But what I can't stand is giving up my fish to someone else that will not give it the required care it requires.......I will not pawn my fish off to someone else for neglect--That my friend would be crueler than killing the fish....

I guess you really have no clue......

Anyhow-
I certainly dont need to explain my action to you.....

Just a thought ,is there any way you can keep the filter running and save your BB colony in it? That would help big time when the plumbing is fixed and the tank re filled.. Good luck..

I'll be saving alittle over 300 gallons from the tank to place back into it---

I have plenty of cannisters to put on their until sump gets reseeded.....

Thanks for the suggestions though ....

AK buddy i wouldnt have judged you in any way.... its good the LFS dropped that tank off for you to use so you didnt have to kill the fish...

Appreciated Sir......People that converse with me-Know exactly what I have done for my pacu in the past-

His response is of no concern to me......

I would love to rehome the fish.....But it simply wont happen...Even if it did-No one is going to give a pacu the care it needs..No one has a tank big enough to house this guy up here......

I can definitely identify with you

would you like a recipe :headbang2

At this point I must stand up and be counted

I rehomed a black pacu and a red pacu from a 33g and a 55g only to get flamed by people when they found out that we had put him in a 180g that we found due to the need to have a larger tank for them and yet still people flamed me when I told them that in days to come that it would need bigger
(The thought came to me do they think it was better I should leave the pacu in their 33g and 55g homes of death perhaps yes)

never once did the flamers take the time to ask me first what the plans were well now both the pacu and my iri sharks which I rehomed from a 55G are swimming in a 300g ocean images custom tank and yet still there are those who refuse to see what has been done to give them a good home here is the tank they are in

at this point those who are the profound experts of how to house a large fish who have tonnes of what should be done need to have their heads shoved somewhere because it is obvious by their words that they are quite comfortable having their head there, when in fact they are oblivious to the reality of keeping such large fish

now that being said we just found this tank and will be bringing it in in the next few weeks

DSC07200.jpg

420g tank, yet, I am pretty sure there will be those yet who have choice words to express their perfect thoughts as to how to house a pacu but have never really expended the funds it takes to get such large tanks

so I can identify with the thoughts of the origional poster

Cheers Sir-
Thanks for the response.......

I'll touch a bit more on that note tomarrow when I'm not in a bad mood....But thank you for understanding...I have spent almost 5 years raising this fish----Last thing I wanted to do was to kill it---If it wasn't for my LFS stepping up and providing this tank wether it breaks or survives-he would have met death already...

Bath wasn't as bad as One would think actually-Things went pretty well-

Although I almost lost him during the move...But things worked themselves out----

He certainly took major damage through the move though----It will take along time for healing......But he made it...

I got some pics I'll post tomarrow morning my time of course...
