That last one is a red devil right?
I had bad luck with them every time I put them with anything. They killed everyone they were ever put with even fish 4 times their size. Keep an eye on him

Let me explain further.. Each of them are growing out with geophagus, severums, milder cichlids and barbs. They were small but just seem to catch up in size with their tankmates, while increasing in personality. So, some reshuffling might be in order. Need to really consider the proper mix

It happens to work out alot better when you keep these kinds of fish solo. I tried over and over to get anything to cohab with my guy Casper. Two hundred dollars worth of fish killed and eaten. Another two hundred wasted in attempting a mate for him.

I gave up trying after he killed three females and accepted that he is a solo fish only.20200602_212913.jpg20200602_213156.jpg

Wow.. Sorry to hear about your loss. Very sound advice tho'. It's about investing in a tank and space or everything else then

I'm just wishful that since the FH seems to be a male and the vieja a female, they might work out. Oth, would I be in another mess if they actually spawn. ?
Hope someone has some experience on this

Just because you have a male and female don't mean that they will get along. Nor breed for that matter. And if they do you have to have a plan on how to remove the fry from your tanks. It's very easy to flood your area with fry and no longer have a way to sell them off. Most places will at best give you a quarter per fry in store credit, if they buy them at all.
I took in 300 of Caspers fry and got a pleco out of it.

Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Get the third tank, then you can try the breeding and have a safe place incase things don't work out.

Should be able to keep dithers with the Vieja and Parrot to get more activity from those tanks. Flowerhorns are not known for being nice so skip that one. The dithers will keep the Viejas tank going while otherwise busy with the FH. Swordtails or Molly's would be my choice.
