So i just got 4 juvi discus. I am looking for ideas on ways to decorate a bar bottom tank . Anyone have any suggestions? Pics would help also.

tie things to rocks.

what is the reason you want to keep a bare bottom tank for discus? just curious, cuz most people put them in planted tanks

bare bottom is the best way to raise juvi discus potted plants anubias and java fern tied to driftwood is nice

Id love to make it a planted tank. And when they a mature i will. But, from what i have read, it is alot better to keep a bare botton tank with juvi discus. Bare botton is alot easier to clean up. And with the heavy feeding the juvis need there needs to be alot of cleaning and water changes. A planted tank can really stunt a juvi discus's growth. Also, alot of water changes are not good for plants. Im just going by what i have read. Some more experiened discus owner might know better though.

i got a diamond tipped bit from lowes and drilled holes in river rocks then siliconed my plants in there. looks good i think. none of those ugly plastic bottoms.

I can just use terracotta pots if i use potted plants? What kind of substrate in the pots?

planted tank substrate. i forget what it's called. i hate live plants in my tanks ;)
