Wow way to be an a hole and point out someone tanks as crap. I like the way its set up.
What do you think this thread is about?

You must have crap like this in your fish tank I take it......

Read the thread title.:screwy:

What's worse than gimmicky stuff is when you mismatch it. Sure, I can see it being OK to have a finding nemo themed tank, but not a tank with one of those hidious pirate ships AND a neon cactus. I've seen a LOT of people to that sort of horrible thing.

10 gallon tank, neon cavey thing, pirate ship, black gravel, some carved stone frogs and those glass droplet beads that home decorators use for rose bowls. YUCK.

... Spongebob aquarium? How sad can you get? :screwy:

i know i'm gonna get laughed but if your setting up a tank for a small child that spongebob theme is cute....it will keep the interest of the child as you attempt to teach the hobby, and spongebob and patrick actually live underwater lol

+1

Ideally I'd say if I were trying to teach the hobby to my child I'd do so with a natural aquarium in an intelligent way etc etc etc......realistically if I'm working with a 5 year old, chances are spongebob (or similar) would work a LOT better.

Although, honestly, what I'll probably do when I have kids (23 & married...so its not TOO far off) is keep my tanks set up the way I like them. If/when the child shows interest I'd start getting them involved in my process, and if/when they want their own tank, I'd let them decide how they want to set it up (and just steer them in the safe direction as far as the health of the fish). So if they end up with sponge-bob, so be it. If they decide they want one just like mine, all the more better:headbang2

My favorite is the "Action Diving Sea Dog"
Awesome! I saved that link in my favorites for future reference. Im feeling inspired to set up a "cheesy tank" like a 120 or 200 with several of those cheesy animated decorations . Question is, what fish would I put in there?
