Decorations That Make No Sense or The Worst Decor Around

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
one more thing i hate... the genetically altered fish that "glow in the dark"... really? yea.. bright pink green orange etc. >=(

I can't really say I'm against 'unnatural' decor for fishtanks...my 20 is setup with a large dragon bubbler & a few little temple-like structures with a fake rock cave on black gravel and I dig it.

My 65 is sand with natural rocks & a nice driftwood root cave, but I also have a fake bonsai tree (was originally in the 20 but I decided it was way overcrowded in there)

I do despise the crazy colored gravels, fake SW things in FW (have joked with my wife about doing that as a gag:p) the printed aquascene backgrounds.

In the end though, I think its just a matter of how well you set it up. If you want to do a sunken treasure/ship theme and you make it look freakin sweet, then thats awesome. But if you have a miniature sunken ship that a fish can't even fit in, next to a diver thats the same size with a no-fishing sign a frog with a martini and some fake plants on blue gravel...I'll want to hit you in the face.

Somebody should make a 'natural' themed tank that looks like your average poluted river. Decaying barbie doll, coke cans, floating debris, murky water...natural. :irked:

Also...you guys that only like natural tank setups, how do you feel about the Amano tanks? Specifically the ones designed to look like dry landscapes...

No offense but I can't stand that dragon bubbler... seen it way too many times!

It's been done. Great for madtoms and other small natives. Just got to watch the metals, better to use bottles. But I saw one guy that had had a beer can in his tank for a long time without a problem.

Yeah, you arent going to see any hypercolor gravel in a Amano tank.
