hello everyone,
I just wanted to stop in right quick to just mention how Incredibly blessed I feel to have all your support. I'm on day 8 of my chemo therapy and it takes alot out of me so please forgive me if I don't get a chance to respond to every post. I'm literally in tears to see a few of the old timers drop in to just wish me well. It really means a lot. Also, JK man, you are unbelievable to the extent of what your doing. Also, the guys willing to drive a distance to donate, I'm just lost for words.
Today my wife spoke to Mike in which she was told a few had wanted to make monetary donations. Please we can't take this. As appreciative as we are your prayers and blood/platelet donation is more than what we can ask for. So please, monetary donations are NOT necessary.
As for the bone marrow my wife and I are learning as we go. The procedure is to test the next of kin first. Which is my brother who got tested yesterday. We won't find out for about 3 wks. There is only a 30% chance of a match. If no match than family members are tested next and then so forth. We're told the closest in getting a match is of the same race. Being I'm Filipino and 1/4 polish could be a needle in a haystack. But there are other means that's to be explored.
So for those wishing to test for a match please just hold off your efforts until we hear word. I dont want to disrupt your daily lives in trying to get tested. I'm just truly lost for words though on your commitment to help.
All this love and support is whats helping me get through this.Such an incredible community of folks willing to help in reality a stranger. I have much love for all you. Thank you.
And Mike, man words cannot express man. Putting on a raffle and everything your doing it's unreal. Thanks Li for everything. You've always been there.
