I am literally in tears right now as I read this. Joey was not only a great friend, but an inspiration to us all. His tanks awed members and set the bar for what we should strive for.

Wow....I haven't been active on MFK for a few weeks and I find out about this tragic news. Although I never got to meet you Joey, I know others who knew you on a personal level and talked greatly not only about your contribution to the hobby but as a person. RIP Joey. My prayers to you and your family.
 
Just found out...been out of the loop being away from the states!!! Rest In Peace Pare! God bless to those you hold dear to your heart!!! A true inspiration to the MONSTER FISH WORLD!!!
 
Wow I haven't been on MFK in quite some time but this is terrible news. Joey was a West Coast legend of fishkeeping. Although I didn't know him personally, he did help me with many questions I had multiple times and I wish I would of had the chance to meet him. This is such a shame. RIP to a great man.

:( Iam lost for words and very sad to hear hence i haven't been active in this site for a long time and just found out the very sad news from a friend today. Rest in Peace pare Joey! It was a pleasure knowing and being a good friend. Gone but Never Forgotten!
